What the service is
Use of PsyJourney is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. The app uses YouTube API Services, and playback happens through an embedded YouTube player. By using the service you agree to be bound by YouTube's terms as well.
PsyJourney is a journey engine: it chooses music, builds a sequence from it and plays it. It does not host music and does not store other people's audio files. The content belongs to its rights holders and is served by YouTube, not by us.
The service is free, carries no advertising and is not run for profit.
Openly licensed recordings
Alongside YouTube, the service can play recordings their owners released under a Creative Commons licence or with direct permission. Such a recording plays only with its credit and licence terms shown beside it, and the licence belongs to its owner, not to us.
Account
- You can listen without an account. An account is needed to keep taste, history and preferences across devices.
- You can sign in with an email address and password, or through Google, Facebook or Spotify. Signing in through a provider is also subject to that provider's terms.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your account.
- One account per person. Accounts must not be created automatically.
- You can delete your account at any time from the settings.
What is not allowed
- Downloading, recording or extracting audio or video from the service or from the embedded player.
- Circumventing, hiding or altering the player, its controls or the video's details.
- Operating the service by automated means, scraping it or overloading it.
- Making commercial use of content served through the service without permission from the rights holders.
- Interfering with the service's operation or attempting to access other users' data.
- Entering content into the inspiration box or the reports that you are not entitled to enter, or content that is abusive.
Copyright
The catalogue is a map to public content on YouTube. We do not own the recordings and claim no rights in them.
A rights holder who believes that particular content should not appear in the catalogue is invited to contact us, identifying the recording and the basis for the request. A recording whose removal is required will be removed from the catalogue. Such removal does not affect the video itself on YouTube - for that, contact YouTube.
Events
Information about parties and festivals is gathered from public sources and processed automatically. It may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Confirm with the organiser before setting out. We do not organise events, do not sell tickets and are not responsible for what happens at them.
Our property
The PsyJourney name, the design, the recommendation engine, the journey engine and the classification layer are the property of the service operator. They may not be copied or used to create derivative works.
The Android app
The Android app is distributed as an installation file directly from us, not through a store. Installing it is at your own risk, and only from the link inside the app. These terms apply to it in full.
Availability
The service is provided as is. We do not commit to continuous availability, and features may change or close.
The service depends on third parties - mainly YouTube, and also the hosting providers, OpenStreetMap and Discogs. A video that has been removed, restricted or blocked from embedding will not play, and that is outside our control.
Liability
The service is meant for listening. We are not liable for indirect damage caused by its use or its unavailability, to the extent the law permits.
High volume over time damages hearing. Control the volume.
Termination
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from the settings. We may restrict or close an account that breaches these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts in Israel have exclusive jurisdiction.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top of the page reflects the version in force, and continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of it.
